I recently bought a house that needed a lot of little things and a few big things done. I invited Joe out and provided him with a written list of repair items, and Joe walked through the house and quickly jotted down quotes next to each item. Joe is a people person, he’s friendly, and shares his ideas freely about what you ask him, and even some things you don’t. (He gave me the name of a painter he likes to use, who has done excellent work for me at a great value) While Joe does some work himself, he functions mainly as a GC, bringing in carpenters, plumbers, electricians, etc. He has a very easygoing manner, and before the first project, I wondered if his attention to detail would good, and if he would stick to his quoted prices. He performed well in both areas.
He re-vented two bathroom fans on the second floor that were improperly vented out the soffit instead of the room. The cost for fixing the vents, and installing 2 new fans was around $450. (I bought the fans separately)
He brought in an electrician to replace underfused breakers and terminate some loose wires in my breaker box for about $350.
He and his carpenters replaced a rotted french door, and did a beautiful job with the trimming – especially the exterior. They moved a heat duct in the floor (because the new door opened from the other side as the old one) and were finished up in half a day.
Joe is a pleasure to work with – professional, responsive, and focused on customer service. If you know exactly what you want, Joe can do it – just make make sure he knows how you want it done. If you need ideas, he has a lot of experience in whole house renovation, and will be able to give you some ideas.
